Exploring relationships as the core of social change…
Jamie Goodwin is an assistant professor at Wheaton College’s Humanitarian Disaster Institute. Having spent the last two decades teaching, leading innovation in and researching about philanthropy and partnerships in cross-cultural settings, she has served on state, national and international-level scholarly projects. They include: The Science of Generosity, The Global Philanthropy Environment Index, The Global Religion Research Initiative, The National Study of Congregations’ Economic Practices, and Indiana Community Action Agencies. Her work has been published by The Urban Institute, The Conversation, and featured in The Stanford Social Innovation Review.
Jamie is a scholar who comes from the world of practice, interacting with social sector leaders on the front lines who every day are creating new futures and implementing solutions to the world’s biggest problems. She believes that interpersonal relationships are the core of this work, and provide value both inherently and instrumentally. As a public scholar, she serves alongside many, co-producing knowledge and co-educating students dedicated to social innovation. The best part of her story — she has been married to Andy for almost 24 years with two precious sons Theo and Julian.
